These terms apply to Smith Home Alerts, a private household notification service used to send automated home monitoring and safety SMS alerts to opted-in household members.

Enrollment

The only opt-in method is SMS keyword opt-in. A household member enrolls by texting START to the Smith Home Alerts phone number after the homeowner provides the number and opt-in instructions.

No automated monitoring or safety alerts are sent before the recipient opts in.

Types of messages

Messages may include freezer or refrigerator door alerts, temperature warnings, water leak alerts, security events, device-status notifications, and other household monitoring or safety alerts.

Message frequency and charges

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Smith Home Alerts does not charge a separate subscription fee for receiving alerts, though the recipient's mobile carrier may apply standard messaging or data charges.

Opt-out and help

Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe. Reply HELP for help. A recipient who has opted out may later re-enroll by texting START.

No purchase requirement

Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchase. Smith Home Alerts is not a commercial marketing program.

Availability

Home monitoring notifications are provided on a best-effort basis and may be delayed or unavailable because of internet, mobile carrier, device, software, power, or other service interruptions.
